UMass Global University Course Code: EDTU 9026Course Description
In years past, core subjects such as science, math, and engineering were distinctly separate from the arts, and seemingly students had an interest in one type of education or the other, but never both. Research has shown, however, that students who have access to the arts, as well as science and math, are more invested in learning, more motivated to come to school, and more apt to perform better in all subjects. That’s why STEAM education is become more commonplace, as it rapidly gains ground inside elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools, and as districts around the country add STEAM schools. If you’d like to learn more about STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math) and how to incorporate it into your teaching, this online professional development course is for you.
The class is based on the notion that every student is a scientist-artist, but that the joy of creativity and artistic expression are often squelched as students are introduced to more rigid and less stimulating approaches to learning.
But why can’t the “artist” in everyone flourish, not only in school, but also in life…not only when students are young, but also throughout their lives.
In this online STEAM course, you’ll learn how to assimilate the arts and sciences into your lesson plans and curriculum, in order to provide a richer learning experience for your students.
Designed for all types of teachers, this online professional development course on STEAM covers a variety of topics, including:
an overview STEAM
research and statistics that support offering STEAM for all students
3-dimensional learning
incorporating context into learning
opportunities for academic discourse
student thinking and reflection
including the arts in teaching and learning activities

When reading article after article in news outlets across the United States, teachers are not only exhausted, but many are leaving the teaching profession altogether. This course is amazing in that it is a one of a kind class that focuses just on K-12 Teachers who are feeling the burnout during the Covid19/Omicron Pandemic and beyond.
Although there are a number of professions (such as tuna fishing, air traffic control, oil drilling, lumber hauling, etc) that exhaust workers, there is no profession like the teaching profession where one must know how to be both an educator, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on, a pandemic prevention specialist, and a education professional - all at the same time. Add to this the experience of a pandemic with having kids at home and one's own health to deal with, you find yourself with a recipe for disaster.
This course explains how the solution to teacher burnout is very similar to the solution that fighter pilots must acquire when they are experiencing a G-force on their chest. Take this class and preserve your profession.

Trauma-Informed Instruction – Online Professional Development Course
LAUSD Course Code: NA-08-12
UMass Global University Course Code: EDUU 9975
Course Description
Every day, an increasing number of students experience trauma that may adversely affect their learning, relationships, and life-trajectories.
According to the Department of Justice, more than half of children in the U.S. were exposed to trauma in the past year, and 40% are direct victims of multiple acts of violence (higher percentages are represented in urban schools). This study also shows that students exposed to violence are more likely to be delinquent, struggle in and drop out of school; as well as to suffer from anxiety, depression, and PTSD, abuse drugs and alcohol, and engage in criminal activities (https://www.justice.gov/archives/defendingchildhood/facts-about-children-and-violence). Trauma can greatly affect students' ability to learn. But through trauma-informed instruction, teachers and other educators can be factors of healing towards success, despite these odds. This course guides educators through a paradigm shift, toward deeper understanding, heightened sensitivity, and increased efficacy in teaching students affected by trauma.

Learning Outcomes
Participants learn to take an informed approach to instruction that can break the cycle of trauma.

Course Description
There is a consistent correlation between students’ success and the involvement of their parents, guardians, and/or other family members in their education. Family members are children’s first and often most influential teachers, and are generally experts about their children and most invested in children’s success in school. Effective partnerships between teachers and other school personnel with the families of students is a key that can unlock rewards that may otherwise be unreachable.
This course guides participants to reflect on past and current practices, introduces practices that have proven to be effective, and provides opportunity to create and share tools that can be used to welcome, include, and partner with students’ families throughout the year to support each child’s success in school and beyond. One of the main avenues to connect with families is through the Parent-Teacher Conference. Course Title: Becoming A Digital Marketing SpecialistNumber of Credits: 1 Credits (15 hours)Click Here to View SyllabusUMass Global University Course Code: EDRU 9965Four Concepts That Will Change How You See the Internet
LEARN CONCEPT 1: Every ad, post, and email you see was a deliberate business decision.Nothing online happens by accident in marketing. The color of a button, the exact words in a headline, the time a post goes live, all of it is tested and intentional. When you understand this, you stop being a passive consumer and start seeing the invisible architecture of the digital world.LEARN CONCEPT 2: Attention is the most valuable currency of the digital age.Every platform, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Google, is competing for your eyeballs. Brands pay billions to get those eyeballs. The digital marketer's job is to earn attention, hold it, and direct it toward a business goal.LEARN CONCEPT 3: Data turns guesswork into strategy.Unlike traditional advertising where you hoped your billboard reached the right person, digital marketing tells you exactly who saw your ad, clicked it, bought something, and how much it cost to get them there. That data is power, and learning to read it is one of the most valuable skills in the world.LEARN CONCEPT 4: You can start building a digital marketing portfolio TODAY, with no budget.Run a social media page for a school club. Write a blog. Help a local business with their Instagram. Create a YouTube channel about something you love. Every piece of content you create is a portfolio item that demonstrates real-world skill to future employers.

Course Title: Becoming An AccountantNumber of Credits: 2 Credits (30hours)ObjectivesHere are the four concepts that will change how you see money forever:
LEARN CONCEPT 1: Saving money reaps rewards in the future. This sounds obvious, yet most people never do it. The student who saves $50 a month from age 16 will have over $600 by graduation. Invested wisely, that seed grows. Know this concept and practice it, and you will win big.LEARN CONCEPT 2: Spending money on things that make money is called investing.Jake (you'll meet him in Chapter 7) bought a truck and a commercial mower with his savings, not sneakers. That purchase made him more money. Spending on things that earn you MORE money is the single biggest difference between the wealthy and everyone else. Know this concept and you will win big.LEARN CONCEPT 3: A Profit & Loss (P&L) report shows you whether you are winning or losing with money. If you track what comes in and what goes out, you will never be surprised by an empty bank account. Every business uses a P&L. Every finance professional read one. You will too, by the end of this course.LEARN CONCEPT 4: A little discipline on your finances today creates long-term freedom.Jake summed it up perfectly at his graduation party. When asked what was the best thing he bought with his savings, he said: "Freedom. I bought freedom." Discipline is not about being cheap. It is about being in control.
Course OverviewThe 3 Ms of Finance, A Letter to Students
Dear Future Finance Rockstar,Have you ever wondered why some people always seem to have money while others are always broken, even when they earn the same amount? The answer is not luck. It is not talent. It is not even how much you earn. It is three simple things:
M1MAKE MoneyEarn it, jobs, side hustles, businesses
M2MANAGE MoneyBudget, save, track every dollar
M3MULTIPLY MoneyInvest, make your money work for you
👩🏫 TEACHER TIPWhen speaking to high schoolers, don't try to push every concept at once. Keep it simple and come back to these 3 M's again and again. The lemonade stand, the grass-cutting business, and the newspaper route help make these concepts practical and real. If students remember only one thing from this course, let it be: Make, Manage, multiply.
Finance is About Mastering CONCEPTS, Not Memorizing FormulasThis course is built around a powerful idea: the person who understands a few core financial concepts, and actually applies them, will outperform someone who memorized every formula in the textbook but never put them to use.Course OutlineWelcome, The 3 Ms of Finance, A Letter to Students3Chapter 1, Money 101, Understanding Your Own Finances5Chapter 2, The Language of Finance, Key Accounting Concepts7Chapter 3, Real-World Scenarios, Finance on the Job9Chapter 4, The Finance Career, Jobs, Descriptions & Career Path12Chapter 5, Getting Hired (Or not!), Resumes & What Goes Wrong14Chapter 6, Your Roadmap, Education, Courses & Next Steps16Chapter 7, Taking the Pathway Untrodden, Smart Stories of Young Winners18Description of Activities
