Teacher comment: "This class has the power to deliver an educator from toxic stress and ensure that a person's teaching career is not only successful but happy and invigorating! The research outlined in this class on the social brain - is revolutionary! In addition, if teaching in a classroom can be likened to driving a car full of kids, then I feel I've been driving my car without a 4th wheel. This class gave me the 4th wheel I needed (which is the understanding of how to build healthy relationships in and outside of the classroom) to make my teaching experience a smooth ride. Why wasn't this course offered to me before? This course is outstanding and I finally feel I have the missing piece to a successful teaching career! Thank you Education4Equity for creating an online course that revived my teaching passion." (5 Stars)

Teacher comment: "My district definitely values music and the arts when it comes to helping students have a holistic education experience. So I said to myself - ok - I will take a class on how to introduce music into my classroom. I envisioned the class talking about how to clap your hands to different beats to help you memorize math formulas. Well, that is all good, but this course opened my eyes to so much more, by teaching me how to use music for classroom management, emotional learning, instrument appreciation and even... silence appreciation. Take this course now and I guarantee a whole new world will open up to you on how to use music in your classroom to advance cognitive learning" (5 Stars).

    Course Description

If you believe that science is for all students, and you’d like to help close the achievement gaps between various groups of students, this online NGSS course is for you. Statistics show concerning gaps between groups of students in their achievement of science standards, scientific literacy, interest in science careers, and preparedness for science fields. In 2013, the California State Board of Education adopted the NGSS for grades K-12 in order to bridge some of those gaps and improve science education for all students. The NGSS is comprised of three cornerstones: core ideas, practices, and crosscutting (connections between Physical Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Science, and Engineering Design). The NGSS combines these three areas to form standards and performance expectations, in order to give students a cohesive understanding of science as they advance through classes and grade levels. The main emphasis of this online NGSS class is to show you how to provide equity in your teaching practices, by incorporating NGSS standards. Designed for all types of teachers, this online professional development course on providing equal access to NGSS for all students includes segments on:
    • what is NGSS
    • why NGSS
    • NGSS and CCSS (Common Core State Standards)
    • NGSS and equity

    • strategies for teaching science to culturally diverse students
    • strategies for teaching science to students with special needs / disabilities
    • strategies for teaching science to girls

  • This 3-credit course will allow you to learn the secret to extinguish and escape one of the most deadliest chronic illnesses in the workplace - BURNOUT. Click Here to View Syllabus Course Description When reading article after article in news outlets across the United States, teachers are not only exhausted, but many are leaving the teaching profession altogether. This course is amazing in that it is a one of a kind class that focuses just on K-12 Teachers who are feeling the burnout during the Covid19/Omicron Pandemic and beyond. Although there are a number of professions (such as tuna fishing, air traffic control, oil drilling, lumber hauling, etc) that exhaust workers, there is no profession like the teaching profession where one must know how to be both an educator, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on, a pandemic prevention specialist, and a education professional - all at the same time. Add to this the experience of a pandemic with having kids at home and one's own health to deal with, you find yourself with a recipe for disaster. This course explains how the solution to teacher burnout is very similar to the solution that fighter pilots must acquire when they are experiencing a G-force on their chest. Take this class and preserve your profession. Target Audience This course is designed for all types of Pre-K through 12th grade teachers, including early childhood education teachers, elementary school teachers, middle school teachers, high school teachers, special education teachers, staff, and administrators.
